In an effort to keep the titles in Taiwan, the Chinese Taipei team is also sending out its top players, including women’s singles player Tai Tzu Ying, who won the title last year, Chou Tien Cheng, who took second in the men’s singles, and Lee Sheng MuTsai Chia Hsin, who beat Lee Yong DaeKo Sung Hyun at the Badminton World Championships last month.

With both teams sending their top players into battle exciting matches all the way from the first round to the final can be expected!

Tai Tzu Ying will do her best to retain her title
The women’s singles will be one of the most competitive disciplines at this year’s Chinese Taipei Open. The KOREA’s top players, Sung Ji Hyun and Bae Youn Joo, will be competing, and Thailand is sending four players ranked in the world top 20, Sapsiree TAERATTANACHAI , Nichaon JINDAPON , Busanan ONGBUMRUNGPAN , Porntip BURANAPRASERTSUK.

If last year’s winner Tai Tzu Ying wants to retain her title she will have to overcome these players, while also taking care of herself to ensure her knee injury does not flare up again like at the Badminton World Championships.

Lee Yong Dae’s new mixed doubles partner has become a hot topic
The “doubles genius” Lee Yong Dae has been focused on the men’s doubles since the London Olympics last year. The Chinese Taipei Open will be the first time he has competed in the mixed doubles in a year. His partner will be an up and coming player ranked 12th in the world, Shin Seung Chan. Many fans have high expectations of this new pairing. Can they repeat the success of their teammates Ko Sung HyunKim Ha Na at the Asia Championship, the first tournament they played together in? Let’s wait and see.
