Dominance of Denmark continues - The Champion of 2018 European Men’s and Women’s team championship

The European Men’s and Women’s team championship ended in Kazan, Russia yesterday. Both Danish Men’s and Women’s team defended the titles successfully. Danish men have taken the crown seven in a row, and Danish women have done it three in a row. Denmark, the European powerful house keeps dominance.

The European Men’s and Women’s team championship had been hosted since 2006. Danish men’s team won all the champions since then, and Danish women’s team lifted five titles in seven chances.

Danish Men’s team had an intensive battle with England in finals. Men’s Singles Anders Antonsen won against Rajiv Ouseph in three games. The world No.6 Men’s Doubles Mads Conrad-Petersen / Mads Pieler Kolding won the second order in two games. However, the Men’s Singles Emil Holst was defeated by Sam Parsons. The fourth order was Men’s Doubles Kim Astrup/ Mathias Christiansen against Peter Briggs/ Sean Vendy. Although the Danish duo lost the first game, they had a comeback performance in game 2 and game 3. They won the forth order in 19-21, 29-27, 21-12 to take the crown.

The Danish women lifted the title against Germany in 3-1. The ladies performed so well on the court, and the good chemistry was shown by their great dance before the game.
