There were only small changes in top 10 players in the world rankings for February announced by the BWF on March 1 as every player is trying their best in every tournament to accumulate Olympic qualifying points. 

Apart from Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei who holds firmly onto number one spot in the men’s singles rankings for February, the rankings for all the other disciplines are headed by players from China. (Wang Yi Han in the women’s singles, Cai Yun/Fu Hai Feng in the men’s doubles, Wang Xiao Li/Yu Yang in the women’s doubles, and Zhang Nan/Zhao Yun Lei in the mixed doubles.)

The tournament calendar in March is packed. February 28 ~ March 4 saw the German Open take place and the All England Open Super Series is now taking place on March 6 ~ 11; it will be followed by the Swiss Open on March 13~18 and the New Zealand Open on March 26 ~31. The result of each tournament will have a direct impact on each player’s accumulation of Olympics qualifying points. Who will end up with a ticket to the Olympics? March-April will be a crucial period for all players.
