2017-02-28

VICTOR, and the Korean National Badminton Team, today announced they have extended their long-standing partnership in a Badminton Korea Association (BKA) press conference. The Korean Badminton National Team started to work with VICTOR in 2009 and has now thrice chosen the badminton equipment manufacturing giant to be the official exclusive full-range badminton sponsor for the team.

“VICTOR has offered generous support to grow the sport in Korea and genuine care to our players,” said Park Ki Hyun, BKA President, in front of local media and team members. “We’re extremely thrilled to say that VICTOR will continue to be our best partner in the next years and that we can hopefully achieve higher aims together."

During the 8-year collaborative run to date, VICTOR has been providing player-driven innovations and state-of-the-art equipment to the Korean Badminton National Team as well as Korea’s National Junior Team, while Korea wrote down illustrious new pages in the history books on the international circuit.

With VICTOR’s support, the Korean women lifted their first Uber Cup in 2010, and went into two finals on three other editions. Another first saw the men’s team drive the home fans to madness with their gold-winning run in the 2014 Asian Games. The Korean National Team also delivered a number of memorable performances, reaching the final stages at the Sudirman Cup (twice) and Thomas Cup (once). Meantime, on the more individual notes, the partnership has also fostered a dozen of BWF World No.1 pairings in the doubles field.

VICTOR Chairman Den-Li Chen, President of BKA Park Ki Hyun and Chairman of VICTOR Ind. Korea SeoYunYoung signed the new sponsorship contrct.

Endeavoring to ensure better care for the Korean athletes and to secure a third team sponsorship contract, Bill Chen, president of VICTOR said, “VICTOR and the Korean National Team have built a strong bond and achieved a lot of shared objectives that went even higher than our expectation. We look forward to building on this special partnership and create more brilliance in the future.”

Elite shuttlers on the team, captain and former world no.1 Yoo Yeon Seong, Superseries singles champions Son Wan Ho, Sung Ji Hyun, and Olympic medalists Jung Kyung Eun/Shin Seung Chan attended the signing conference and expressed their delight with the BKA decision. “It’s vital we get to work with a premium brand in VICTOR and especially that we’re able to keep what’s fitted into our training system already,“ said Yoo. “I appreciate how VICTOR listens to us and helps us reach our goals with the best products. All I can do in return is to stay around longer to hopefully use my experience to take the game of mine and more importantly of the younger generation’s to the next level.”
