VICTOR 50th Anniversary Exhibition Kickstarts in Taipei

2018-10-08

Plenty of fun and celebrations are about to get under way for VICTOR, a Taiwan-based, internationally-renowned badminton brand, as they’re ready to hold a public exhibition “Badminton Is My Faith” for their 50th anniversary, which will take place at the Huashan 1914 Creative Park from Oct. 9 – 14.

The anniversary exhibition is dedicated to the rich stream of history of the VICTOR brand since 1968, which transcends generations and cultures, uniting badminton lovers across the world and making the racket sport an even more fascinating existence. The collection on display will contain many never-before-seen archive materials that chronicle the past, present, and future of the brand, as well as the 19 major trophies owned by one of the world’s top women’s singles players, Taiwan native Tai Tzu-Ying.

Tai Tzu Ying invited all to visit the exhibition

In the past half of century, VICTOR has developed industry-leading inventions, ranging from rackets, shoes, clothing, and court equipment, which make the sport stronger. Its sales network has grown from the island into 60 countries and regions across five continents. Not just well-received by the fans, VICTOR products are loved by pro shuttlers. VICTOR’s sponsorship supports include world no.1 Tai Tzu-Ying, men’s next-gen singles star Wang Tzu-Wei, and national teams in Korea, Malaysia, and Denmark. “We’ve been standing behind all the badminton lovers as well as the world’s best players, and we’re extremely honored and proud to support them in their pursuit of being their best,” said VICTOR President Bill Chen. “Badminton is the faith that leads and inspires our lives. VICTOR takes honor in supporting that faith of us all.”

This marks the first-ever badminton-themed exhibition in Taiwan, the home of VICTOR. Local superstars Tai, men’s doubles combo Lee Yang/Lee Jhe-Huei, and Malaysia’s Olympic silver medalists Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying were present on the pre-event press conference to wish the brand a very memorable week in commemoration of the 50-year milestone.

“Since I was very little, I’ve been using VICTOR equipment. They are the strongest back-up whenever I go,” said Tai, whose 19 major trophies, including that of her first international title from the U.S. Open Grand Prix, her five consecutive victories this season, and the gold medal from her recent Asian Games triumph.

Fans can take pictures and “check in” in front of an artistic, badminton-court styled photo booth, or a human-sized VICTOR shuttlecock at the event entrance. Limited, event-only capsule toys of player miniatures of Tai, Wang, Lee Yang/Lee Jhe-Huei are waiting to be taken home. Wang will be on-site, face-to-face with fans, to promote the sale of the fun-filled souvenir store on Oct. 10.

The display of VICTOR craftsman design and materials

The year of 2018 has been a year to remember as VICTOR took the important role as the official attire supplier of the entire Chinese Taipei national team athletes, allowing players to look their best on the big occasion as in the recently concluded Asian Games and many more grand events in the future such as the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020. The VICTOR “Badminton Is My Faith” anniversary exhibition will be a place to capture the passion and power of the happy community and celebrate the beauty of badminton.
