In the mixed doubles, Chen Hung-lin/Cheng Wen-hsin had a chance to follow up their victory in the Singapore Open Superserioes but came to grief in the semis; their performance was, however, still worthy of praise.

After the game, Cheng said: "We actually played quite well in this tournament but today we just fell short, couldn’t get ahead of our opponents, and just lacked a bit of steam overall. This game has shown us that there are a number of places where adjustments can be made and we try our best to get better.”

South Korea’s men’s doubles pair, Ko Sung Hyun/Yoo Yeon Seong, women’s doubles pair Ha Jung Eun/ Kim Min Jung and Vietnam’s men’s singles player Nguyen Tien Minh all came up against stiff opposition in the quarter finals, falling at this stage, however, their fighting spirit, was still commendable.
