In the BWF world rankings for August, apart from Wang Shi Xian who was pushed out of top spot in the women’s singles by Wang Yi Han, Lee Chong Wei in the men’s singles, Cai Yun/Fu Hai Feng in the men’s doubles,Wang Shao Li/Yu Yang in the women’s doubles, and Zhang Nan/Zhao Yun Lei in the mixed doubles all held onto top spot.

 South Korean pair Ko Sung Hyun/ Yoo Yeon Seong took second place in the World Badminton Championship held in London in August, their best showing in the world championship since they joined forces, also sending their world ranking up from 5th to 4th. Another top Korean men’s pair, Lee Yong Dae/Jung Jae Sung, held firmly onto third spot.

 As for the Chinese Taipei team, recently the mixed doubles pair of Chen Hung-lin/ Cheng Wen Hsin have performed consistently and they retained their sixth spot in the world rankings. As for Taiwan’s top men’s pair, Fang Chieh Min/ Lee Sheng Mu, although their ranking has dropped to 11th, this week the Taipei Open will be held and it can be expected that the pair will put in a good show on home turf and climb back up into the top 10.

 As for the performance of other Victor stars, Nguyen Tien Minh in the men’s singles, Bae Youn Joo in the women’s singles, Cheng Wen Hsin/Chien Yu Chin and South Korea’s Ha Jung Eun/ Kim Min Jung in the women’s all stayed in the top ten.
