Kim & Kim Continue Dubai Charge with China Open Victory


Korea’s unseeded duo Kim Gi Jung and Kim Sa Rang made an important stride to return to the season-end BWF Superseries Finals with a decisive victory over 6th-seeded local Chai/Hong in the men’s doubles final of the China Open 2015. VICTOR is proud to be the Gold Sponsor of this year’s event.

Team Kim and Kim continued their late charge for the year end showdown with a final at the VICTOR Korea Open in September, a semifinal at the French Open in October, and now a win in the Superseries Premier tournament in Fuzhou. Ranked ninth before this week, they will be temporarily occupying that last eighth spot heading in to the final Superseries stop next week in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
Kim Gi Jung and Kim Sa Rang made it to the Superseries Finals in 2013 and won a silver medal after beating compatriots Lee Yong Dae and Yoo Yeon Seong.
This is Kim/Kim’s second consecutive title after claiming the Jeonju VICTOR Korea Masters last week.

Kim Gi Jung and Kim Sa Rang has now won their 10th match in a row.
Another Team VICTOR player to enjoy a breakthrough week is Son Wan Ho, who got his first Superseries medal in 2015, notching an upset win over Japan’s Kento Momota in round of 16 and finishing in the semifinals. Son found his form right in time when he needs as he will be defending the crown he won at the Hong Kong Open which will be starting on Wednesday.
