[VICTOR News] The VICTOR stars performed outstandingly in the US Open Badminton 2011 that came to a close in mid-July, with “girl genius” Tai Tzu-ying of Chinese Taipei defeating Sayaka Sato of Japan to take her first international title at the age of just 17, also becoming the youngest winner of the US Open’s women’s singles event. Tai is third seed for the coming Canada Open and will be aiming to take her second title in succession.

It’s fair to say that the South Koreans were the biggest winners at the US Open Badminton 2011, taking three doubles titles. Actively seeking to accumulate Olympic points, Lee Yong Dae/ Ha Jung Eun took the mixed doubles title, Lee Yong Dae and new partner Ko Sung Hyun defeated US pair Howard Bach and Tony Gunawan in the men’s doubles, and Ha Jung Eun/ Kim Min Jung defeated another South Korean pair in a hard-fought three game match in the women’s doubles.
