Buoyed by the return of former No.1 Lee Chong Wei to back the Men’s Singles rubber, Team Malaysia went up in full force and fought against the odds to clinch a precious first point in the packed Group D, including an epic opening win of Thomas Cup heroes Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong (equipped with VICTOR JETSPEED S 10 racket) saving five match points to defeat Men’s Doubles world no.1s Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong. If they get to go past India on Monday night, they will be guaranteed a quarterfinal berth.

Malaysia was the 2009 semifinalist, while Korea has never been ousted before the semifinals in all 13 Sudirman Cup appearances and lifted the cup three times. Korea was the runner-up in the previous 2013 edition.
